Draws upon an in-depth knowledge of the game, in all areas, developed through years of experience, including 8 years playing at West Ham United and Leyton Orient as a youth player and over 20+ years coaching at professional level. Committed to the development and promotion of young players, believing this to be the most profitable and rewarding method of creating sustained success, utilising experienced gained working at the forefront of the youth academy system in England, during which time the development of 90+ professional players, including 14 Full Internationals, 9 who have represented England and another 11 players who have represented England at Under 21 level.

Selected Domestic Football Experience

Millwall FC (2018-2020)

Charlton Athletic FC (2017-2018)
Responsible for introducing the clubs playing and coaching philosophies whilst also being able to plan, prepare and implement the RTC’s Technical/Coaching programme for all players aged from 9-16 to also include LTPD/4 corner model.
Also, conducted both CPD and in service training events besides mentoring the 8 members of coaching staff which included a GK and strenth & conditioning coach as well as upskilling where necessary.

Maidstone United FC (2017)
First Team Coach
- Lead the team from a relegation place with just 26 points from 28 games (0.92 points per game) whilst only achieving 1 win in the previous 14 games (1 win in 10 league games) to turning the club’s fortunes around to go on a ‘run’ only losing 1 game in 14
- During this run going on to collect 29 points from 14 games (2.07 points per game) whilst achieving a win ratio of 57.1% compared with the previous record of 25%
- Maidstone United FC finished a very respectable 13th in the league which was the highest place it reached in the 3 seasons in the National League
- Colin’s ‘overall’ record as 1st Team Coach at Maidstone United FC reads Win: 45.8%, Draw: 29.2% and Lose: 25%, which compares very favourably with the time both before he arrived and after he departed (which read, Win: 23.8%, Draw 22.1% and Lose: 53.9%)

Macclesfield Town FC (2012)
- Prepared the team for all fixtures, assuming full responsibility for the design and implementation of the full-time training programme, devising the teams tactical approach, and putting this into action during training and match-days
- Lead team to 11 wins from 15 matches (73% win percentage), including a victory against Npower Championship side Blackburn Rovers, leaving the club top of the Blue Square Conference Premier
- Supported the 1st team manager in completing day-to-day duties, including daily management of the squad and staff
- player recruitment and media responsibilities, whilst fostering positive working relationships with club administrators

Bishops Stortford FC (2011-2012)
- Co-ordinated all elements of coaching the team, including the design and delivery of the training programme, all tactical preparation for fixtures and the management and coaching of the team on a match day
- Lead the team, inherited in 20th position (3rd from bottom with just 16 points from 19 games and without a league win in over 2 months), to 42 points from 23 games (win percentage of 65% including league and cup games), to a 10th placed finish in the Blue Square Conference North
- Established an effective and successful method of playing whilst fostering a professional environment, resulting in the team winning both county cup competitions in one of the clubs most successful ever seasons

Stevenage FC (2006-2009)
- Oversaw the creation and implementation of the technical programme for players and coaches within all phases of the academy, whilst involved in all areas of player and coach development throughout the club
- Supported the first-team manager Mark Stimson, providing opponent analysis and player recruitment advice, being a member of the coaching staff who played at the new Wembley stadium after the club won the FA Trophy in 2007
- Managed and coached both reserve and under 18 teams, working with a multi-disciplinary backroom team

West Ham United FC (1998-2006)
- Worked alongside Tony Carr MBE, assuming direct responsibility for player development and talent identification within the relevant age phase, whilst leading a coach education programme for all academy coaches
- Lead U15/U16 squads to repeated success, winning the Nike Cup in 2001 (Berlin, Germany – finished 7th in world) and 2002 (Lisbon, Portugal – finished 13th in world) and finishing as runners up in 2003, moving onto represent the UK in the International Nike Cup World Finals competition

Lead youth development phase ages groups with direct responsibility for both the management and coaching of specific teams. Oversaw the team finish as 2010 runners-up in the prestigious Italian Palova Cup

Experienced over 25 years working as national tutor for both UEFA, FA and PFA courses, delivering to professional coaches and players throughout the world, becoming one of the first tutors of new UEFA B, whilst also creating and running ‘Reid Football Development’ (1990), delivering FA/UEFA courses throughout Europe including the prestigious UEFA A License

Polish Football Federation and National Team Head Coaches
Delivered practical and theoretical sessions to national team coaches, as well as professional coaches from throughout the world, as a main presenter at Polish FA national conference 2014 and at many other venues; from 2014 to present time

Italian Football Federation
Represented West Ham United, working with clubs including, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Roma, AC Milan, FC Inter Milan, Parma, Porto, Ajax, Athletic Bilbao, Atalanta, SS Lazio, presenting to and educating Italian Football Federation regional coaches

Worked closely with La Liga clubs including Sevilla and visits to both Malaga and Real Betis FC to enhance understanding of Spanish youth academy system and construct and support new Spanish academy project and training programme
